how reliable is the ferry service from SXM to Anguilla and is there an option to reserve ahead of time? What are the hours the ferries run week days?
I can find more about the ferry service on the Anguilla side but no information on what times the ferry run from St Martin to Anguilla?

JD is correct. Show up – get your name on the manifest, pay and wait for the boat. Cash only , take passport. Ellen

We have not been large users - 4 times?
The public ferry ran on time for us, no reservations that I know of
If you want reservations then you would need to use the private ferries that leave from across the airport - We used once - GB Express [Link is another choice] More expensive, a little faster, the reserved times were met. I think others on this board have noted reserved times were not met for them?, but based on our 1 time trip on GB Express all went well.
Note if using a cab for a day trip on Anguilla, we checked the return boat time and took the cabs reco for when he would return to pick us up - and of course passports are needed
We liked Anguilla - different vibe

Thank you all for info. This trip would be for my boss who has business in Anguilla and I pretty much book everything in advance when he travels. Im not real comfortable with the ferry.
Would using Winair or Liat be a better option for those who have used it? He has no need to be in Sxm only Axa. I assume I can book those flights online and ahead of time ?

The best tool to find flights is Google Flights. Enter your departure and arrival airports and Google does the rest. Displays times and price.

Don't think WinAir or Liat go to Anguilla anymore. Lately, I have been using Anguilla Air Service - 8 minutes up and down - very reliable. 100.00 per person each way.

Other than maybe running 10 minutes or so behind schedule, the public ferry should be fine. I have taken it many times. Personally, I think flying would open up the potential for more delays.

Fabila....I always use the Ferry to Anguilla from the airport...as soon as you exit from picking up your bags they are right there with your name on a card....3 min ride to the ferry dock...Have always used Funtime...just e-mail them date...time & flight #.....there are other ferries, I have nothing but great things to say about them. kate

Louise- We have used the public ferry many times and it has always ran on time. With that said, the process can be a little confusing for first timers. (3 different windows- $5 cash departure tax is paid at one of the windows. Ferry fee is paid on the boat, also in cash) We have also used GB Express. Very nice folks. They will pick you up at the airport. You can make a rservation with them. Only you know the person you are making arrangements for and their budget but I would either go with GB or the air service Ellen recommends to make it easier.
