Has anyone been to Le Sand recently? Was wondering if the C/O area gets any use or if it is even still there. Been 2 years since we were there and the beach was completely empty that day.The food was fantastic.

The C/O area is still there, not many people use it, just a few.

Sands have raised their prices and dropped quantities which has made many clients leave. The food is still very good.

In addition, one of waiters seems to have taken command and several really nice waiters and the barmaid have left.

The boss is still as nice as ever.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunate to hear about the waiter.

It's right next to Dreams, in Nettle Bay.

Dreams is not on Baie Nettle but on Anse des Sables, or Cove of the Sands, or Sands Cove in English. Check your Saint Martin/Sint Maarten map. It's true but I just had to pull your leg.

Seriously?? I guess you should tell Bruno that, as his website says the address is Baie Nettle.

The beach in front of Dreams is officially Ance des Sables, but it is in the area called Baie Nettle.

Michal Kasprowski who publishes the Saint Martin/Sint Maarten although he has a very all inclusive disclaimer on it. Got to protect oneself from Carol and her cohorts.

...which is what I said, it's in Baie Nettle. People know where Baie Nettle is, which is what they need to know.

Anse not Ance.

Anse des Sables starts after the abandoned Belle Créole Hotel which is after Sands.

I've been to Dreams twice in the last week, only one different woman there each day, and not nude.

Sorry, you mean only one woman at Le Sand, or at Dreams?

In the C/O area.
Maybe 10-12 people at Sands, probably about 40 for lunch at Dreams.

The nude area is separate from the 2 restaurants. As mentioned, there was only one topless woman in the "nude beach" area.

I was there this pm.

They remove the seaweed, but there is not much.

How is the wind? Last two times I was there in the low season it was worse than Orient.

Earlier this month and in late November, the wind changed from day to day. We were on Orient one day when it was quite windy, and two days later there was almost no wind at all. The same was true at Dreams on Nettle Bay, which is right next door to Le Sand. It's a crapshoot everywhere.

Two years ago when we stayed across the street we walked this beach every morning. Very quiet, lots of empty plastic containers above the tide line. The sand gets coarser as you get further away from LeSand. Perfect place to remove tan lines. There was a third restaurant called Mati(?), rustic but wonderful ambiance and food between Dreams and the Nettle Bay Beach Club property.
