Can anyone tell me if there is an ATM right at Orient Village?
(I did a search and found lots of discussion about ATMs, Euro vs Dollar, ATMosphere <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />, but not specifically if there was an ATM at the Village.)

I want to say no? We stayed in Orient Village for two weeks in May and I recall needing cash and there being no ATM nearby.

There is one at hope estates (near the roundabout) where the simply grocery store is. It's called credit (something or other). the other ATM there doesn't give U.S. cash.

Thanks. I would be looking for Euros from an ATM on the French side. But the closest is at Hope Estate?

As you are facing the grocery in Hope Estates, there is an outside ATM is in front of the building on the far right.

We have spent a lot of time on the French Side over the years and never had to use euros. American dollars are accepted everywhere on the island.

It's called Credit Mutual. The ATM despenses Euros or USD and has no fees. If you withdraw USD, it takes that amount out of your account. If you get Euros, then the conversion rate is applied and taken out of your account.

Being from Canada, there will be an exchange regardless of what I withdraw. And depending on the going rate at merchants, taking euros could be the most advantageous.
