We haven't been to either of these yet. Any opinion as to which is better? Also looking for a store featuring the Nouveau Beaujolais release on 11/18. Anybody know anything?

There is a great wine shop, with very good prices, in the Belvedere complex in Marigot. From the Cole Bay end of the causeway,go towards Marigot; the complex is on the left. Turn left, go straight down to the end, turn right, Netters will be on your right. They have a large selection of wines, from reasonable prices to more expensive. We purchase all of our wines here, and have for several years. The shop faces the lagoon.

There is an excellent wine section in most of the grocery stores, Grande Marche in Cole Bay for sure. Also petit casino store in Orient village has a lot of wines.

Thanks so much Jeannie! I really appreciate that you're doing this. I hope some other members here will be able to experience this too.

Ok this is what I have found so far from my distributers... The new vintage will arrive in st maarten mid novemeber... This is specially flown in for the event from France.
It will be approximately $7.00 a bottle ... There will be many other tasting venues but is is too early and nothing has been finalized but these two venues will have tasting on these dates:
November 18, from 7pm @ Le Gout du Vin, Marigot
Novemebr 19th in the parking lot Netter Saint Martin belle vue - time not confirmed please call closer to the date to confirm date and time 05 90 87 51 02.
As I get more info I will post for sure

To your question-
About Bacchus and Grape, they both have lots of great French wines and will both have the Beaujolais as soon as they can get it.
Bacchus is more vast, with a much wider selection. They also have one of the finest restaurants open on the island (Lunch only, closed Sundays), They also have lots of gourmet selections of cheese, meats and condiments. They are the only distributor of Nespresso on the island.
Grape is right down the street, with a wide selection as well, but not as many other labels and international regions. They have some gourmet food items as well.
Hope this helps.

Also, I am positive that Carole, formerly of l'Estaminet, and now the proprietor of l'Epicerie Gourmande in Oyster Pond, will have the Beaujolais as soon as it's available.

Yes! Thank you very much for that information! I've passed both of these places several times when shopping at Simply, but never went inside. I went on Bacchus' website and noticed they had a market and restaurant, but I didn't know the details.

Thanks, Georgia! Another place to try! We'll only be on island for a couple more days after the release, so not sure how many places we'll be able to get to (hiccup ).

Have you heard anything more Jeannie? Crystal of Le Piment thought there might be something going on in Orient Village, possibly a band. She wasn't sure if it was Thursday or Friday night.

Le Gout du Vin in Marigot is having a tasting. I heard it advertised on the radio yesterday. It's on the little street 2 blocks in from Serafina's.
