Hi all,

My bride and I will be on island in the next couple of weeks. We are big foodies so to speak and as such are staying in Grand Case. I've done some dabbling around here and have a short list of places to hit while there but want everyone's input on their favorites for both lunch and dinner. We tend to eat more economically for lunch and then spend bigger for dinner and drinks. So far I have the following places down:
Lunch: Capt.Frenchys and Calmos
Dinner: Moulin Fou and BYBLOS

Let me know what you all think and throw out your favorites.

Thanks!

Captain Frenchys was excellent. Rainbow, next door to Frenchys, was superb.....higher end than Frenchys (escargot, Sushi, etc.) I'd go back to both if given the chance. Nice clean beach and super calm water a few weeks ago. One note---Rainbow has its own parking lot (very, very rare in that area!)

Le Santal in Sandy Ground for dinner. Don't be put off by it's immediate surroundings.

I couldn't agree more. Also, Tropicana (Marigot Marina Port Royal) for lunch.

Our favorite restaurants are Spiga ( a must stop at), Ocean 82, Bistrot Caraibes, Calmos Cafe and Piazza Pascal ( again a must stop at) in Grand Case, Pineapple Pete’s, SkipJacks and the Yacht Club in Simpson Bay, Big Fish in Oyster Bay. There are numerous other good restaurants in the Simpson Bay area like the Stone, Hideaway, Greenhouse, and Lee’s. For lunch, it is fun to stop at the Sunset Bar and Grill (SSB&G) to watch the planes land and grab a burger. The Buccaneer Beach Bar (BBB) in Simpson Bay probably has the best burger at the best prices. They also have nightly specials and good ribs.
There are great bakeries in Marigot and in Simpson Bay for breakfast and lunch. We go to Zee Best for breakfast in Simpson Bay. If we are driving over to Orient beach, from Simpson Bay in the morning, we may stop at a bakery in Marigot for a snack to take along or stop at Bacchus in Hope Estates for a sandwich. These are just some of our favorites. Enjoy your trip.

Our two favorites in Grand Case.....La Villa...and Piazza Pascal!!! Neither will ''break the bank'', and both offer FABULOUS food and service!! Another must do in Grand Case for lunch, would be to have 1 lunch at the LOLOS. Our favorite is Talk of the Town. All the food is barbecued in half barrells, smoked, and delicious. The ribs, chicken fish etc...are delicous...and hard to go over 10 to 12 bucks a pop!!! Le Moulin Fou is at Maho. It is one of the best restaurants on the island...and probably the best outside of Grand Case!!!! Grand Case is known worldwide as the Food Capitol of the Carribean. Almost impossible to find anything under a GREAT rating!

Please don't overlook Le Ti Coin Creole. Some of the best food around.

We liked Calmos for dinner because it was a great place to watch the sun set.

My favorite restaurant on the whole island is Temptation, which is in Coupecoy, next to the casino. It is upscale ($$$$) but worth it. Other excellent, less expensive, choices include Le Piment (Orient Village), Piazza Pascal (Grand Case), and Tutta Pasta & Bavaria, both in Simpson Bay. For lunch, we enjoy the pizza and salads at La Belle Epoque at the Marigot Marina.

I'm going where the weather suits my clothes.

In Marigot for lunch - Rosemarys
In Phillipsburg for lunch - Chesterfields or Kangaroo Court
On the Dutch side - Izi, Bavaria, The Palms, Fusion
