We are returning to SXM for 2 weeks starting Dec 28 after a 4 year hiatus. This will be our 7th trip but we have always stayed at or near Orient Beach.
Have booked a location near Dawn Beach and will be hosting our adult children and significant others for parts of the stay.
Any recommendations for activities, restaurants etc close by Dawn? We will have a car and of course do some touring but have only done a couple of quick day trips to Dawn many years ago.
Also any info on Dawn beach itself would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Send me a regular email address and I'll send you my list of restaurants in the Oyster Pond area. sxmnorm@yahoo.com

Dawn Beach, being on the Atlantic side of SXM is like others on that side, being plagued with seaweed. Some days are better (less seaweed) than others.

Next SXM visit -November 2023. Also January 2024.

Our favorite restaurant in that area is Quay Oust, great little place near Captain Olivers. Also like BZH which does more than just crepes. Have fun, it is a great area.

Mama (or is it Mamma?) Pizza on the road between Dawn Beach and Captain Oliver's is also very good. Mr. Busby's on Dawn Beach is a great breakfast spot.

We like Dinghy Dock for a casual dinner. Also Big Fish is great. If you are interested in seeing the island from another angle, Captain Alan's boat charters are wonderful - they have several different tours.

Gotta Caribbean soul I can barely control and some Texas hidden here in my heart...(J.B.)

If you want to catch a nice cooling late afternoon breeze and scenic setting with drink of choice, walk the dock outside of the Captain Olivers dinding area to the Iguana bar. Their happy hour used to be by one-second free.
Just a few minutes from Dinghy Dock, which is also a fun place and pretty good bar food. Quai Quest and BZH are also favorites.
Of course, on the other side of the harbor are Big Fish, Canoa, Island pizza, Busby's by day/Daniels at nite.
There are several local markets. One just before the gate into OBBR, three over in French OP. AuPain d'Epices is probably the best stocked, located at the NE part of the French side residential area. In same parking lot was a nice carry-in laundry service.

We love Mama's Pizza and Dinghy Dock for dinner. Mr Busby's is great for breakfast.
