We've used CA before and it was fine altho a little cramped in my opinion (my husband LOVED it). Making reservations now and Seaborne has same prices and times from SJU to EIS. How do they compare??

its a short flight--price should drive your choice.

I've never flown seaborne. I love the Cape Air flight. Yes its small, but the views are worth the price of admission alone.
We also like the commuter book since we haven't had any trouble using all 10 one-way coupons in a year. Works great when we have others with us as we use them very quickly that way and it locks in that leg of the trip. So it's just getting the flights to San Juan as cheap as we can.

Seaborne usually, but not always, flies Saab 340s between SJU and EIS. The other plane (that Seaborne sometimes uses) is smaller, atho not as small as the 9-pax Cessna 402s that Cape Air flies; I believe 15 or 16 pax.

Seaborne has been hanging on by its fingertips for years financially. Puerto Rico actually invested 16 million into the operation to keep them operating on the condition they relocate the headquarters and main hub to SJU after the airport authority ran American out. I don't know their current financial condition but they are rumored to be on the edge. Pay with a credit card. G

We have used the Seaborne people to St. Croix and BVI. They have always been great to work with. Being a pilot I like the older smaller planes because of the low altitude and the huge windows! Hope ;they hang on they are really trying and it helps out the hole that American left!

We used both this past week. Added a passenger late so we had to have them fly Cape Air. Seaborne's counter rep was great and helped us a lot. Flight was quick and smooth. Cape Air had changed the schedule for the flight down, so had to take a later flight to make the connection. That flight had to return to SJU due to door issues mid flight.
