i remember a gentleman cutting open fresh young coconuts for sale around Marigot market area.....is he still there? any particular days? cost?

He was there a year or two ago but I never really looked this year as I was only through Marigot once. I would imagine he would be there at least on Wednesday and Saturday and probably other days of there are a few ships in port.

Cost was in the $5-$6 range the last time I bought a drink and a couple of $$ more if you wanted alcohol in your drink.

I've seen them doing it at orient beach in the past. Nothing like fresh coconut

Curious, what was the disappointment? Did you not like the coconut milk or was it not what you remembered?

That's not particularly helpful to others who might want to try it. Was there something wrong with it? Have you had it elsewhere and liked it better, or do you just not like fresh coconut?

By the way, Candj, what you get from a fresh coconut is coconut water; coconut milk is made by processing coconut meat and coconut water in a blender.

the BEST (well at least my favorite) is the YOUNG coconut where the meat is like "jelly".....mmmmmmmmmmm <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />
