greg1 said: getting out of sxm is not a problem. looked into the next day flights from anywhere and could not find one. tried mia, phila, clt. all full flights. will keep looking right to the bitter end. thanks for all the suggestions. As I mentioned before, if you're willing to stay overnight in SXM, there is plenty of availability( meaning at least 7 seats)on US/AA the next day.

I saw that, too, and given the alliance (I hesitate to use the word connection given the general context of this thread....) of the two airlines, there shouldn't be a problem, I would think, if the OP was able to return on Sunday. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Exit row seats typically do cost more but under the circumstances, the fee might be waived or you just pay it if that is the only option. I think it is around $10 or so for the exit row seats.

greg1 said: thanks again will check on the exit row price increase if any. It should be minimal but under the circumstances, I would push for them to absorb any difference. I would also go directly to a supervisor at this point with any questions/concerns you have and ALWAYS get the persons name and/or badge/ID number if possible.

greg1 said: coming home on sunday would mean we (8 of us) would have to find a place to stay in sxm. then on the flight from clt to hartford we would have to find out if the exit row seats would cost us more money. You'll have to find a place in either SXM or CLT. I know where I'd rather overnight. Plus, they are offering $275 to help defray the costs of exit row seating. BTW, if airline tells you there is no availability from CLT on Sunday, they are full of it. Best of luck.
