We missed going to SXM last year (what a mistake)and have noticed that no one has mentioned the Perch or Willie on the board lately. Has anything changed or will we see her smiling face next week?

You will see her. We were there 3 weeks ago and she's still the attraction at the Perch.

We also had drinks with Willie during our visit last month. She told us she's been there 30 years now.

She certainly is one of the most talked about "celebrities" when it comes to friendliness and excellent service (sometimes hard to find that quality in the SXM food/beverage service department). AND you can tell she loves her job !! Kudos to her for sticking it out for 30 years, and making everyone's stay more enjoyable

I agree great bartender but I wish they would get her some help at Happy Hour. The line is exasperating.

It would be better if she just had a barback that could do ice, open beers and do the general clean up. She could just stay in the well and make drinks. I don't think having someone help out for an hour a day would be a big deal. It would also help if people knew what they were ordering before they get up to the bar. I am sure the question "what's good?" drives her justs as nuts as it does the next in line.

I'm sure if she put up a sign-up list she could get a lot of volunteers for a "barback" for a free drink or two, but then you'd have to put on at least a few clothes, so maybe not... BTW - JP did a great job on her off days in January.

Having to wait in line is the why you get 2 for 1. All things considered, she does a great job!

No argument from me. Just chuckling from prior post. Also saying she does a great job of training people so that life does go on...

I've heard Willy say that a few times while waiting in line. Heck, standing in line chatting with those around you is part of the fun of happy hour at the Perch!

I guess I just look at it from a different perspective. I have run bars for 30+ years and think that the Pearch can maximize the opportunity with better management. But hey i am on vacatin so i should just chill. I agree on the social aspect of waiting in line but after the pleasentries I just want a drink.
