I have been booked for our flights in March from FLL to SXM via SJU since July. Last week, we received a notice that our flights got changed leaving us less than 30 minutes in SJU before the trip to SXM. Anyways....after a call, i was told it should NOT be a problem. now, today, I get another email from JB that we are now on the early flight out of FLL, and now have a FOUR HOUR stopover in SJU!!!! According to them the later flight has now been discontinued. Not a happy camper right now. Anybody else hearing about this change???? I was really looking forward to NOT flying out of MIA on American this year....but now not so sure.

Did you go on Jet Blue website and see about a connection on Seabourne? Last year, they were doing a connection from SJU on Seabourne. If that is not available, I would bail and go for AA out of Miami.. Although frankly, not sure why you're messing with Jet Blue connection anyway. Personally, I much prefer a nonstop.. It's not like it's a long drive from West Palm to Miami..

It was the price....at the time. JB looked good.....lot cheaper...and the connections only added about an hour...and it was a couple of hundred bucks cheapereach ticket than AA back then. Now not so sure. Now considering doing the unthinkable...and cancelling out JB and taking our chances with spirit, non stop out of FLL. Am finding AA through the roof!!!!

I get ya. I have flown Spirit several times, when the price was right.. So far, have been satisfied with what we paid, versus the other options.

Is Spirit flying to SXM more than one flight on Saturday? The one time we flew them the plane was late coming in from FLL and for a while we didn't know if we would be able to get home that day. The Spirit employees weren't helpful and it seemed like if there was an equipment failure that it might be a few days before they could/would get a plane to SXM.

As far as I know, only on Saturdays. At one point during high season a couple of years ago, they did some Sunday flights also, but I don't think they have done so recently.

Wow, just looked at flights in February and March and there was a r/t for $264, including taxes! No checked bags or advance seat assignments, but with a checked bag each way, still only $304, not bad...

Carol....don't forget the sixty dollar/person charge to join the ''club'' that they have to get those lower fares. It still is a decent deal.

Well, actually, no, that $264 was without any club membership. Bags were like $10 cheaper when you're in the club though.

Don't forget the added cost of a roll of ductape to keep your plane together. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

For what it's worth, we did BOS-SJU and SJU-SXM with a 30 minute change and it always worked. Why they are pulling the later flight, I don't know. They partner w/ Seabourne airlines to SXM too... maybe that would offer a better connection?
