A friend took me for dinner last evening in Grand Case. An hour before I realized it was the first Tuesday, Les Mardis de Grand Case.

We had a sunset drink at the Grand Case Beach Club.

Dinner this evening was at Le Pressior. It was a lovely evening starting with
the foie gras sampler & a glass of champagne. Sarah had lamb & I chose the sole. Both were plated beautifully & delicious. We had a special dessert with pears & cream. It was a bit noisy so I didn't hear the proper name for the dessert. It was not on the menu.

My friend noticed this stunning woman wearing an electric blue sheath dress, sitting at the next table, she loved her dress. I saw this woman at the cutting of the ribbon, at Mardi Gras, on Facebook this morning, small world.

It was a lovely evening, I only wish that diners at Le Pressoir would dress up a bit more at dinner, as baseball caps, logo t-shirts, flip-flops seem out of place.

Oh well, maybe it's just me.... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

It's sad. Unfortunately, many tourists don't feel the need to make even a minor effort to show respect to these fine restaurants, and their fellow guests. Also sadly, those are the people who are quick to respond that "shorts and a t-shirt is acceptable attire" at any restaurant on the island, when the question is asked.

According to the Daily Herald the person cutting the ribbon is the President of the Collective', Aline Hanson, but it appears the lady in the blue dress is not cutting the ribbon in the picture in the Herald, although she is in the picture.
