The decision had been made, we are not going to be able to be in SXM for our normal 3 to 4 weeks Nov/Dec this year, I have known this for several weeks but I could not until today pull the trigger on cancelling our airline tickets. So hard to do, but it had to happen. New business interest starting up around then that will not allow for travel, now hoping 2026 works for us! At least we go there in 2025 earlier this year so we can say we did, that memory will have to last a while.

We will miss our island friends!
Cheers to new adventures!

Having to cancel hurts whatever the reason. But good that business is hopefully going well.

Respectfully,

Ooooh - glad to hear this venture is getting off the ground!

I just pulled the plug on my June trip but was able to turn around and use the airline credit for jazz cruise out of FLL in January.

Change can be a good thing. I bought a beach house in North Carolina. I will miss St. Maarten but driving with my dogs and still getting a tan helps the transition.

Maybe the changes will bring about more and longer visits in the future. Good luck.

Todd--regardless of the reason, tough to have to cancel. Best wishes in your new adventure.

We had to cancel our 2024 trip Todd and we were super sad but we’re here now. Time will fly and before you know it, you’ll be back on the island again! All the best with your new venture.

We definitely hear you Todd..it's always a drag to have to cancel a trip to the island, but even more so I think when it's the yearly trip at the time you've always visited as that's always special..the weeks that started it all. You look forward to seeing the friends you see same time each year, among other things. We had to cancel our Nov/Dec trip this past fall as Richard was diagnosed with cancer in September and was busy fighting the beast. We ran into you and GaKaye at the Hole in the Wall last year if you remember. Richard used a trip to the island as his incentive to power through what ended up being a brutal process, and we're headed down the 15th so he can sit in the sun and continue to heal up. He had his 3 month scan a few weeks ago, and is cancer-free, so this trip will be very special. Sounds like you've got your priorities straight, and we'll miss you this November, but will look forward to running into you somewhere down the road.

Cheers!
