FOOD, continuedLa CigaleHaving never been to La Cigale before, I had high expectations based on online reviews. The setting is nothing short of spectacular, and the background music was lovely.
The amuse bouche was good although I don’t recall what it was. Server talked me in to an appetizer special that was coated egg with asparagus and spinach which didn’t impress. The duck entrée was nicely presented, but the duck was chewy. I am coming to the unfortunate realization that many places just don’t know how to cook duck properly (not that I do).
The PalmsAte here several times as it’s so convenient to the Toad. Todd on this board, who knows a thing or two about meat, claims the filet mignon is the best on the island so that’s what I ordered. I agree completely. You can cut it with a knife, and the flavor is marvelous. I had it twice this trip and recommend it highly.
Also ate here on my last night on the island. Was feeling sorry for myself having to leave so did some Keto cheating. Delicious espresso martini and peanut butter cheesecake; filet mignon in between.
Mezza LunaMet BillandElaine for lunch on a rainy day; we managed to stay dry. Only one server, so service was pretty slow. The lamb chops were good.
AltroThis restaurant in Porto Cupecoy has been one of my favorites since it opened. They offer a three-course, fixed-price menu for $39, with several selections in each course. I had an appetizer of tomato with fried mozzarella, an entrée of lamb two ways. In lieu of dessert, I had a carpaccio appetizer. All were very good, and service was attentive and pleasant.
Mark’s PlaceMet friends for lunch at Mark’s Place. I had the special of lamb chops, which were very good.
