We haven’t done the tour… plan to next trip. I have definitely enjoyed sipping their rum though.

I wonder where the rum is actually distilled. It reads like it's maybe Rhum Agricole (cane sugar juice), which can be an acquired taste, but they also say molasses, which is typical Rum. I would be pleased to sit down and have a sip. Or two.

Interesting thought. I know some countries will import the molasses and distill it themselves.

There was a rhum on St Barth a few years ago called, I think, R St Barth and sold at a premium. My understanding is that it was distilled on Marie Gallante, and sold there at a bargain price before being bottled and labeled as a premium rhum. Know what you’re buying, If it tastes good to you, and you’re happy with the price, then buy it. If not, move on. But don’t get sold by the label.

That's putting it mildly! Think of the smell of a freshly mowed lawn. To me, Rhum Agricole tastes like what I imagine that would.

That is why want to go for a tasting along with seeing the process.
