I've never taken the ferry from STT to St John, only to the BVI. I'm sailing my cat to St John from BVI in May for a month and will have visitors while in the USVI. I'd appreciate ferry info between St Thomas and Cruz Bay. thanks

In November, we took the ferry from the main pier in Charlotte Amalie to Cruz Bay and there were 4 passengers going and 3 returning. I think that the ride was maybe 30 minutes longer than the ferry from Red Hook. I did notice that there were a lot of workers returning on the the ferry to Red Hook and it was crowded. We stayed at Olga’s Fancy and it was a few minutes walk to the main dock. A plus was having drinks and a snack at the Petite Pump Room.

Here is the reference I use for ferry schedules - https://www.vinow.com/travel/virgin-islands-ferry-schedules/

If fly into St. Thomas, The Crown Bay Ferry is what I usually take. If the times do not line up I end on the Red Hook ferry.
