I'm thinking on going on a spotting trip to Florida in May, and mainly around Miami, Ft.Lauderdale and Orlando. Which motels will you recommend and what are the average prices for a motel room per night?

You might want to look into renting a timeshare. There are many, many choices. It might initially cost more than a motel, but you will have at least minimal kitchen facilities so you can have breakfast and what ever other meals you want in your unit. Sue

I must not get out much. What in the world is a spotting trip? Thanks.

I believe a "spotting" trip is when you are interesting in looking for another location to live. Some people refer to it as a hunting trip...as in house hunting... But I am from the country so may be off base here. I do not believe that is referring to fishing for the famous "Spot" fish that we have here in eastern NC. LOL

Where does that term come from? I never heard it and I been around!
I thought he was birding or something.
Weird.
Still no help if he's looking around for a new place to live, he/she has to whittle it down to neighborhood.
cheers
