The center of Hurricane Lee will likely pass well north of SXM. However Lee will generate a very large wind field that could bring tropical storm force gusts to the islands by Friday night or Saturday.

Please stay weather aware and take heed especially on the Atlantic facing side of the islands.

Hopefully tropical storm winds are the worst of it, but nothing is guaranteed as of now, as this thing is scheduled to be a monster. Hopefully, as Lesley said, the island gets some good rains and that's all.

Still looking good for SXM, as far as Lee is concerned.

All the forecast have stayed very consistent. Spaghetti models are all in agreement for the next few days and then they spread a bit.
Based on all the local on island information and expert forecasting it does not look like we will get more than some rain bands, and a little wind. Having said that, I would not be surprised if there was a bit of beach erosion somewhere. That always comes back though. As I am on the island, this is all good news.

Best wishes for all of the Island - we'll be there in 3 months so absolutely hoping for minor contact from Lee.

It's a cat 4 now. But not going to impact us as it will be 270 miles away at closest point.

So happy for SXM!!

Hopefully this will be the end of it.

Not too sure if it will be a threat to us on New England's coast.
