The only jet Qatar flies that has four engines that I know of would be an A380. Hopefully some pictures will be posted. Would love to see an A380 fly in and out.
Just saw a picture, looks like an A340 to me, could be wrong. I didn't think Qatar flew A340's and I could be wrong but not an A380.

Or could be 747-8F Cargo. The only two that would have 4 engines

The number on the fuselage when it was pulling into the terminal was A7HHH which I believe is a Airbus A340. I think.

Qatar as an airline quit flying the A340 in 2019, but the Qatar operates a fleet of 15 jets for use by the Royals and Government and in that they have 3 of the A340 aircraft so I would guess there is somebody significant from Qatar arriving.

Yes, cool link! It's amazing how small that Jet Blue plane looked, versus the Qatar one.

The two links supplied by eightzerobits probably sheds some light about who may be on that flight. But why? To buy property? Or is there some conference shaded in SXM? Have you seen any other unusual landings from other countries?

It is an Airbus 340-600, the longest commercial aircraft flying today, longer than the A380. It could accomodate up to 475 passangers. It is a different and bigger version than the A340-200 that normally Air France lands in Sxm(it could be a problem for a fully loaded A340-600 used for commercial use only to take off from Juliana). Engines are bigger too. It is a massive plane. Most likely passangers of that plane will end their trip in St. Barth.

Lesley did they move it from the terminal off to the side by the private jet arrival area?

It is an Airbus 340-600, the longest commercial aircraft flying today, longer than the A380.. The YouTube says it's an A340-541.

You are 100% correct. Also, its not the longest commercially flying airplane today, that goes to the Boeing 747-8i series and is being flown by 2 European countries commercially. Just an FYI to correct another statement.

And still there as of last night. I know, been keeping my eye on it from the SXM island cam. Hopefully I'll be on line when it starts to move. Have to go to my bank today to wire some money to BSV for our upcoming visit and hope it's not gone by the time we get back.

Whale Tail--not to change the subject, but why do you wire money to BSV? Just mail them a check..

Carol--I wire the money from my US account here in Canada, which is not a checking account and wiring is faster than the mail. I know, one of my jobs in life was a mailman for 25 years and I know how the mail system works

I thought they accept checks only. When we contacted Tracey she gave us the option of check or wire transfer and provided us the info on where to wire the money. Easier for us.

Whale Tail--sorry, I didn't pay attention that you are Canadian. That adds a whole 'nother layer to the situation.
Sorry, for the detour in the thread.
Was anyone able to confirm who was on the plane? If anyone sees when it takes off, please post..

No problem Carol just want to make sure my bills are paid. Don't want to mess up on vacation reservations. Lesley mentioned it was a Prince on board but didn't know which one. If I notice the plane is on the move I will be posting.

Bill Dauterive--I had to remove the photos that you posted, as there was an obscene photo down the page from the Twitter post with the photos. I had no idea how to remove just the obscene photo.

This video looks like it was shot from the observation deck at BSV!!! So impressive, like the old days of KLM and Air France!!! I'd love to see the cabin of this plane! Must be like a SIX star hotel and better!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oy0UeTOa4TM
