Is it necessary to book a ticket on the ferry from Trellis Bay to Virgin Gorda, or can we just get a ticket when we arrive. There will be 4 of us. Arriving on a Monday at about 11:30 AM. What is the best ferry company to use?

You should be able to take the 1PM Speedy's ferry. You don't pre-book that one. Just hop on and pay on board.

Hi. This may be a silly question, but I recall people saying that it is an easy walk from EIS to the Trellis Bay ferry dock.

Is it? I am sorta sheparding a group of 6 60+, and don't want to overtax them on the first day!

There will be luggage (probably castered). I am fine with making more than one trip myself to get the bags, but curious as to how the walk actually is.

Thanks!

Last time we were there, there was a free shuttle bus that
ran back and forth
The walk is insignificant, probably less than 100 yds
Being every bit of 60+, I'd say it's certainly doable but
more of a pain in the butt than needed to drag
bags across an uneven surface

Last time we did it, Speedy’s had a shuttle from the airport to the ferry. Especially nice on a hot day with luggage. That was March 2022. Their website still says there is a free shuttle, but you may want to double check. The walk is short but some of the terrain is bumpy. On the + side you can have a drink at Trellis while you wait for the ferry. We also used the BVI ConcIerge service to expedite our arrival through customs, etc. Not sure if they are operating still but it was nice to get through the Covid screening/customs a bit ahead of the crowd.

Amen to that RW - as a boat owner no way I can get away traveling with just a carry-on!

BTW, emailed Speedy's, and they said the free shuttle is still running.
