The lady you refer to is drug dealer and has spent time in prison for same. She owns lots f of real esatte, all drug money from her husband ,who eventually was gunned down. Cline is a thief and a con man. Had to flee Detroit because the mayor was found to be dishonest and went to prison . Came to the BVI and contined his crime spree.

Will;
My thought is Foy gets to stay at the daughters house. Gets shot and killed by drug lords. USA gets to keep the 500k, bail bondsman gets to sell all Foys assets in the BVI.

IMO Fahie is a dead man walking. He knows too much.

Did Maynard get bail too?

I always found it odd that Head Coach needed the BVI taxpayer to cough up for security. He said he had information that he was a target. Really, a bunch of islands with 30,000 people? Much clearer now.

The Judge said that the reason why she was setting bond was so that he could continue his duties as Premier

"While Judge Otazo-Reyes sidestepped the immunity issue, she seemed convinced by Van Vliet's argument that Fahie's continued detention would make it impossible for him to carry out his official duties at a critical juncture for the islands, as officials weigh suspending the territory’s constitution in an attempt to clean up rampant corruption." Seriously???

According to the acting Premier, Natalio Wheatley, the BVI govt. doesn't want Fahie back.

That's what I had read, which makes it even more curious why the Judge used that as her reasoning for releasing him on bond.. The US attorney said they were going to appeal the granting of bond. Any news on that?

If Wheatley is acting Premier because Fahie was detained (and he is no longer locked up), does that mean that until there are decisions made regarding the Govt structure and/or Fahie is sentenced, that techincally Fahie can still be making decisions for the territory??? That is what it sounds like the judge is saying.

The Premier is not an elected position, I would think the party could simply remove him an appoint someone new.

I , like many others, would like to see the UK take over and straighten this heavy listing, extremely corrupt, ship. But, I dont believe that will happen. It seems to me they will go for a new Gov mix of all the parties with, hopefully, the Govenor having a BIG say in what happens and is involved in all decisions , policy making and $$ spent. Not what I would choose but it might appease the Anti UK lobby, some of whom are already trying to play the race card..and we dont want that PLEASE!

These two articles gives some more background about the BVI and it's relationship with the EU and Great Britain in general. The long and short of it is that the EU is fed up with the BVI and its tax haven status, and are pressing to make it clean up it's act. So with the Premier getting busted, the EU, the COI, general fiscal shenanigans/malfeasance, somethings gotta give.

So, if he is removed, does that not also eliminate the reason he was granted bail? As such, I am guessing the prosecutors could move to revoke it.

It looks like federal prosecutors have appealed the bail decision, so Fahie is still in jail, is that correct?

And my feeling is that he probably couldn't meet Nebbia conditions anyway?

The big income maker that has fueled the government is the corporate domicile formation in the bvi associated with their opaque banking structure. Though there has been some reported cracks in the system due to international pressure it remains a goto for wealthy of the world of all stripes.

British takeover would likely involve quick changes in transparency and regulation. While it should be argued that's a great policy for the world at large , it will devastate the banking industry and the largest source of income, hurting the people that corrupt government officials have been cheating. Those corporate entities would move to the Caymens,Bahamas etc along with the associated fees .

I would imagine besides many politicians not wanting to lose their power, there are some who know the impact this would have and something less than a total British take over might preserve a good deal of the revenue.

Will be hard to weed out the corruption without a takeover one would think. However I really dread seeing a much higher level of poverty hit those islands.
