Reporting from the front lines here at Club Orient... This innovation has come to the forefront... It's actually a baby product discovered by two New Yorkers that serves adult purposes. It has been thoroughly tested today. It works impeccably on a Club Orient Beach Chair as cup holder etc... It's a Brica Deluxe Snack Pod and is a must have if you're a frequent visitor. People seeing it are already inquiring!

A really great idea and seems to work perfectly for those thirsty beach days! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />

Modi, you are a genius. This could be one of the best posts I've ever seen.
Does anyone have any ideas for chair covers/cushions? As we all know after a few hours, those straps are killers....

Some people make their own... Here's the measurements that should get you there.

That is really cool, but any ideas for an actual tray that attaches to a chair? I like someplace to put my book, suntan lotion, etc.

Modi, thank you very much for the actual measurements. I know this took awhile to create in order to post. Thanks again.

Thanks for taking the time to post the measurements. I would love it if Club O would invest in some nice chairs with cushions. With the money they make renting chairs, they should be able to supply something more comfortable.

I understand why they don't have chairs with cushions, for sanitary reasons.

They're popular with hikers, and they are a godsend on those straps. They roll up into a tube that's maybe 4" in diameter. We have a couple in storage down there along with a couple straps to tie them down, I get asked about them several times every year. Have had them over 15 yrs and they're doing just fine.

Could you not put a towel on the cushion to prevent any problems the same as sitting on any other chair?

Yes, you COULD. The problem that I would see is that some people might not do it.

I like the ones Clem makes and sells...
I have been visiting St. Maarten for 48 years as well as many other Islands....but SXM is "home". In the USA, I live between FL (north of Tampa/Pasco/Brooksville) and CT. Any questions, please mail me: [email]MrStMaarten@aol.com[/email

We noticed today that these chairs are all manufactured by Mi-Lor Casual Inc out of Florida. It was good to see their measurements pretty much agree with ours!

Glad to get the measurements! The picture also helps as we make our chair covers for our upcoming trip.

We are figuring out how to do the towel covers. Our towels are 77 inches long and 38 inches wide. We thought of velcro strips to hold it on the bottom and form a pocket for the top. Pockets on the sides would be nice to hold books or a drink. We could even put that cup holder you showed us on the side and fold the towel under at that point.
Thanks for the measurements!! We don't care how you got them because it helps us! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />

I ordered four of these 'cup' holders late last week and they arrived in time for us to 'test' them by the pool this weekend. I can report the test was successful and we will be taking them on our next trip.

Excellent! So now there's a second opinion! We also have canoes back home and I've been jury rigging cupholders on them for eons. I'm thinking this little Brica Snack Pod is going to be pulling some extra duty.

Check out the Romanoff Lap Tray Carol from Amazon. We take one on the beach, takes no room in the suitcase, sits between the loungers, and combines a table with storage for books etc etc

snack tray Here is the url for it. I was kind of looking for something that folds. Seems to me that it would take up a fair amount of space in a suitcase.

Table in a bag We bring one of these down with us. It straps to the side of my carry on. Very convenient and sturdy.

The dimensions seem to big for carry-on to me?? What about this one, which is on your link? The leg screws off of it, so it would be totally flat, could put in a checked suitcase with ease.

We have both but the wine table was pretty useless if your glasses don't fit. With the table in a bag, the legs unscrew and the table rolls up. It's a little less than 30" long. With the strap, it's like carry a thick poster tube. No problems carrying it on either.

Oh, didn't realize the table rolled up or that the legs unscrew. It sounds much better than I thought. Yes, the wine table wouldn't work as well if the wine glasses didn't fit.
