can't wait till August.

you had paddleboarders in your photo, any idea where they rented from? We rented at Cinnamon Bay last time. Don't know we could do that and go to Maho and we saw people paddling last time.

Nothing planned.....please help!

Last time I was here I remember listening to the guy at Cinnamon tell some newbies that they could go as far as Francis Bay, but no further. But he recommended that they stay in Cinnamon and when they felt conifident go to Maho.

Next adventure is up: Janet ... Scorpion Whisperer

Hey Tom, great reports!! I'm familiar with your friends area. If you head down towards Cocolobo on the right there's a blue villa with white roof "Bay House", perfect spot for us!

As far as that arachnid your wife is CRAZY..... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Yikes.gif" alt="" /> when my daughter was maybe 8-9, she and a friend were sitting at night on the great room floor of a beachfront villa on Rendezvous Bay, from the porch we saw a HUGE Tarantula crossing the open doorway just 10 feet from the kids, my buddy grabbed a magazine and quietly "removed" it, if the kids had seen this it would have given them nightmares <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" /> FYI, in all my years of visiting, that's the only tarantula I've ever come across! Scorpions...that's another thing! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

When does your wife swim the beach to beach? Good luck to her and thanks for the updates!

Beerman that is correct. It is right behind Aqua Bistro, but it a white building with blue shutters. Great location for the... other side... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />

Irina thank you for the nice comments.

Shots of Francis Bay are up and more later on.

Race started at 8:06 AST
Towel boy in place in the shade by 8:23 AST

SailorJane and the BVIShuga boys have been sighted.

Mosquitos were intense at the start, but seem ok at Hawknest. The breeze picked up <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Joy.gif" alt="" />

Sailorjane - Sorry we missed you at the post party celebration. We could not get a table so we hung in shade at the bottom of the hill. It was a great race day and truly a pleasure to met you. Yesterday was the victory party in JVD. Good time had by all.

However we did make the Sunday post party sail trip to JVD... Let the fun begin

Too tired to post, but we had a wonderful day. And I promise to do a wrap up when we get back.

Nutmeg, so sorry we missed you, but promise next time.

Thanks to everyone for following along on the blog. I know it is a different format than the usual, but it works for us because I can leave the family a single url to follow along.

BVIShuga and SailorJane enjoy the rest of your vacation.

So I guess it is time to start paddling - It is a long damn way back to the mainland. Trip report upon our return.

Great to meet you tomB, we told BVI Suga that we met you, not sure if you ran into her at the finish line. It was a great event, glad to hear your wife did well.

There is something sweet about walking/running/staggering to the finish line after 3.5 miles

Yep I did catch up with the ladies. Ask them who they were cheering for as a swimmer exited the water.

We all laughed when it was not who they expected. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" />

Nice to have met you Tom! How in the world did you know who I was and who the three guys were out of all those people on the beach?

While on Maho, I saw three gentlemen hanging together so I walked up and asked, "Who is married to BVIShuga?" I think I caught them off guard. And when they realized I was TTOL follower JostPirate said you must be TomB.

So when I got to Hawknest I looked for three attractive ladies and walked up and said, Who is BVIShuga? And you answered.

Groups of three are easy to find?

On the other hand, SailorJane had to find me. I guess she recognized me from the blog.

Great job with the reports Tom! We are very much looking forward to sailing the BVI's in July, but this will be our first time to go a full calendar year without stepping foot on Love City, not since our daughter was an infant <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" /> At least we will see her from a distance on the boat..........we will return soon! Thanks again for the reports!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Cheers.gif" alt="" />

Well I finally had time since our return from STJ to do a wrap-up more in the classic trip report format.

Race for a Reason Part 2 - Final Blog Entry

We had a great week and met so many new folks and had so many new experiences. I can hardly wait until the next trip.
