We had a long travel day yesterday, but we arrived in time for the sunset! Have only had time to see Cruz Bay and up to our villa, but it’s really green, healthy looking and happy to see some mature trees survived the hurricanes! Off to our first beach day, cheers!

Welcome back. I bet the mango trees along Centerline Road are getting ripe. Keep an eye out for genips. Cheers, RickG

Thanks for the pics. Can you give the general location of villa... Gotta good guess, but am curious.

Looks like Gifft Hill or upper Rock Ridge. I love the Western exposure! Cheers, RickG.

Gifft Hill was my guess. We spent a lovely week in villa called Hummingbird before the Hurricane Sadly, it is no longer there.

Rick, we are finding both genips and mangoes! Most ripe mangoes are picked or fallen, but a few ripe ones found! Tom, we are in Bethany area. Long story about last minute villa cancellation will be part of the report, but all is well in Bethany and it’s a beautiful location!

We departed STJ this morning on the 0900 ferry. Just ahead of the first wave of heavy rain! Plane delayed 2 hours, hoping to board soon.

OK, thanks for checking in!! Hopefully you will be able to leave soon.
Reminds me of the last time we stayed on St. John -- 1999 for left-handed Lenny!! We had to leave two days early from a Florida Bar convention. They put Eric and I on two different planes. I went from STT to Miami and Eric had to fly to Puerto Rico from STT, technically INTO the path of the hurricane!! As it turned out, we both made it home OK.

Well....we be home! Day consisted of 2-1/2 hour flight delay in STT and then sat on the Dulles tarmac 45 minutes waiting for available gate to open. Pilot said we were the last plane allowed to land because of severe thunderstorms in Virginia. Felt bad for the dozens of people missing connecting flights, love our direct flights from here! Will download the pics tomorrow to start a report, cheers!
