Five ships in Philipsburg today. Are they all empty except crew?

Just saw the pilot get onboard the ship! It would be interesting to hear stories from some of those folks.

I wonder about the crews stuck on a ship without patrons. Can they get off in ports?

Elaine--is that still true? Perhaps they have it set up now that if the crew member is vaccinated, they can get a Covid test and get off the ship?

It is sad seeing them wandering back and forth.

Not yet. Was wondering the other day how the crew would get vaccinated?

I would think it would be pretty easy--the cruise line just sends some vaccine in, along with someone to do it. The crew on the ship to be home ported in SXM come June is going to be all vaccinated. The same is true with regard to ones being home ported in the Bahamas and the DR. I expect frankly that ALL cruise lines will be doing fully vaccinated crew. Makes sense to go ahead and do it now, to cut down on any sickness among the crew now.

Depending on regulations and the number of crew, a doctor may already be part of the warm-layup crew.

As I said, it wouldn't be hard at all to vaccinate everyone, and they will probably need to vaccinate ALL crew members whenever they return to full service anyway. I would be surprised if they don't have a doctor onboard already, now I think about it, since they always have one when they are sailing regularly. Or, for example one doctor for Royal Caribbean ships, and they can service each ship as necessary..
