Hi,
Given delays in vaccine rollout, it seems like the ports won't reopen by June so we are trying to see if we have another reasonably affordable way to get to EIS in June from STT. I heard people taking Cape Air but when I searched on their site I could find no flights in June. Has anyone booked a flight from STT to EIS, if so, how did you book it and how much are fares? Any advice will be helpful!

Edit : cape Air

Thank you!

Are you thinking of Cape Air? You can also fly with VI Airlink but if Cape Air is in your budge, it's a better option.

Hi Java

Lake Stevens, WA guy here!

We booked from SEA to EIS - American and Cape Air. Booked through American. Checked bags at SEA and picked them up at EIS!

Overall travel door to door from SEA was faster than flying into STT and taking ferrys. FYI

We already have non changeable tickets to STT, can we book Cape Air from STT to EIS? We have previously only taken the from Puerto Rico.

We're booked into STT 06/30 so are facing somewhat the same dilemma. I hope that ferries are running by then but our backup plan is to use the water taxi hybrid plan. For us with 5 people it is an option, but still an expensive one. Chartering a plane is another, even more expensive, option. We probably won't make any decision about this for another couple of months since if the ferries aren't running by then, my guess is they might not start up again until the fall.

Dolphin Water Taxi has charter a couple of planes and arrange to fly passengers from STT to EIS. On the return, they pick you up on Tortola with a water taxi and return you to St. Thomas.

WillM --- Your SEA-EIS, did you go thru SJU or STT? American was able to book you on one ticket for the whole trip Cape Air? All I am seeing is Silver as their connection option.

We have been watching our Intercaribbean flight get canceled day after day from SJU to EIS so we are going to rebook into STT and use Dolphin if the ferries are not up and running by June 1.

Dolphin is around $400 per person round trip - fly to EIS and water taxi back. About $360 pp if you end up in water taxi back and forth.

Hey Winterstale - Is Intercaribbean just reducing the number of flights due to lack of passengers?

Husker - yes, they cancel if the planes don't have enough passengers. The flight we are currently booked on (last of theirs that day at 5:55 p.m. on 6/6) took off on Saturday....but not for the last three days.....not very encouraging. After all we've gone through trying to get down there? I want to try to eliminate as much stress as possible for our travel day....

Hmm. And if you get cancelled you are stuck finding accommodations in SJU. I know there is a private carrier, but much more expensive unless you can put together an group of at least 5.

Java230: If you click in my original post where it says "water taxi hybrid plan" it takes you to Dolphin's website where it is explained.

I got a quote from SJU to EIS through Air Charter Advisors and it was $5K each way. Cessna Caravan or PC12 aircraft

We went aa.com roundtrip.......
