New to this forum, we have a bareboat trip planned in June. Does anyone know if the quarantine moorage has been updated to include anchorages with mooring balls? Or is it all anchoring only?
Thanks!

Several of the quarantine sites have mooring balls: Benures 14, Soldier 4, PI Great Harbor a whole bunch, etc.

I would expect plenty at Malone Bay as well.

I would expect plenty at Malone Bay as well. Malone is actually behind the Leverick Bay mooring field.

Are the Leverick balls - not - a part of the Quarantine? Anchoring?

The Leverick Balls are in Leverick Bay. The quarantine bay in that area is Malone Bay; different place. As far as I know, Malone does not have mooring balls and is anchor only.

Thank you everyone, so my understanding is that we can go to great harbor on PI - can get a ball but won't be getting off the boat. That's great, not the end of the world to spend 5 days there 😊

That's great, not the end of the world to spend 5 days there 😊 There are way more options than just Great Harbor. Benures Bay is beautiful and there are about 14 balls here. Soldier Bay next door has about 4 balls. I’ll know more on the mooring ball situation in the coming days as we travel around but don’t limit yourself to 1 anchorage unless you want to.

I love Benures bay but it’s not really an all weather anchorage. It can get nasty at times but with a good forecast it’s fine. GH would be better if there is a possibility of Thunderstorms. Soldier bay is less protected.
