Not on island but living like most others wishing we were there. The Maho beach looks great and Simpson bay area near Beachside has us thinking of splitting our two weeks. Only problem is that we enjoy the "company" while staying at Royal Islander Like some others we cancelled this year not because of the hoops but the what happens if one of us gets covid while on island. Florence of La Villa let us know yesteray that a spot is out front for us
Just a huge thank you for this site as it certainly keeps us informed and makes the year go by qiucker when we can visit each day from a distance

I can confirm that as well! I heard jackhammering last night around 11:30 pm and didn’t know what was going on. When we left this morning driving south (we’re staying on the south end of town near Bleu Emeraude) towards Friars Bay we saw they had torn up the south bound lane for paving and thought that must have been it. We were coming home from Orient Bay this afternoon and attempted to drive through Grand Case around 2:30pm, coming from the airport end of town, and were met with fresh pavement! Starting around the big public parking area it’s all freshly poured asphalt. The road was blocked off at Bistro Caraibes so we couldn’t tell how far they went. I’m assuming the traffic cones were just temporary to let it set but we’re going back this evening for dinner at Piazza Pascal and hopefully will see it unblocked.

BenP... would love to hear about your experience at Piazza Pascal. Always loved the place, but now with Pascal and Donna gone, curious how and what the new owners have done with the place. Can't pitcure Piazza Pascal without Donna and Pascal!!

Carol, Ed, Be careful what you wish for.....a partial trip report is coming later this afternoon. Today looks to be our rainy/shopping day so we’re headed to Philipsburg and I should be able to put some details together when we get back. Island time is a beautiful thing!
Speaking of the Grand Case road....
It was paved down to the Mary Star of the Sea Church last night around 8pm but was blocked so you couldn’t go any further. The trucks woke us up around 3am and they were paving all night. I’ll see how far they got when we head out.
