USVI sailors: what about Water Bay/Pineapple Bay on the east end of St Thomas? You can access 3 restaurants there. Point Pleasant has two restaurants on property- The Shoreline Grill directly on the water and fine dining at Mirador up the hill; and the Margaritaville resort is there as well.

I'm reading about needing a permit at Buck Island, the one near ST Thomas. Does one need a permit to tie up to the day use moorings at Turtle Cove and/or Buck Island?

I have not seen any reports on the STT Buck Island use of moorings.
There has been some STX Buck Island Natl. Park discussion threads.

That's why I'm confused and that's what I thought. Just wanted confirmation. Thank you!

I'm not aware of any restrictions on use of the STT Buck Island day use moorings.

If I can’t get my hands on the “virgin island cruising guide” due to out of stock, anyone have a good cruising alternative? Specifically anchorages / moorings / swell & wind concerns / approaches, etc?

Check out Facebook group - USVI Cruisers and Boaters Group. In the files section there's a comprehensive cruising guide. It is too large to attache here.

Thank you! I’ve not been on FaceBook for over 5 years but honestly it seems there are quite a few good groups that might pull me back in!
