Adult Industry Business have agree to voluntary close till the end of the month to slow down Covid-19 spread on the Dutch side. Minister of TEATT, Ludmila de Weever, has said more covid-19 related closures will be coming on Saturday, August 15th. I assume this will be for the Bars and related businesses.

Anyone else see the irony of mentioning the Minister of TEATT in an article on the Adult entertainment business. Maybe it's just me regressing towards childhood.

This is what I've heard from people living on the dutch side. Also seeing confirmation from people who live on the french side saying they are hearing the same thing too about whats going to happen on the dutch side. Still waiting for news conference to begin.

So they can honor reservations / take new reservations checking in before Aug 19th only. Kinda like USVI restrictions.

Just listened to the address.

Casino's clubs bars close tomorrow (forget the time)
Restaurants and anyone with an alcohol license must close at 10PM

That's it. NO beach closing. no hotel closing, Just those two. For now.

Hmm, okay. 10PM early, but a little extra balcony time at night won’t hurt. Hope these measures can keep things in check.

Covid-19 Update - St. Maarten

Closure of "entertainment" places as of Sunday, August 16

Therefore, as per a ministerial decree, commercial premises for licences for clubs, coffeehouse and bars will be temporarily closed until August 31.

MUST CLOSE COMPLETELY: Bars, nightclubs, discotheques, lounges (e.g. cigar lounges), and adult entertainment.

MUST CLOSE AS OF 10:00PM: Restaurants and any (other) premises operating with a restaurant licence must close at 10:00pm nightly.

All premises that require a licence or permission pursuant to Article 2 of the National Ordinance Licences to be able to sell alcoholic beverages also fall under the ministerial decree.

Government urges all other businesses with a licence to sell alcohol that have an allowed late night closure to follow suit voluntarily eventhough they are not affected by the decree.

The significant increase in active Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations is "a matter of great concern" for government.

The number of active cases in one week rose from 74 to 150, the tally as of August 14. The rate at which Covid-19 is spreading is very worrying, this makes government intervention of paramount importance.

The country is "not yet in a state of emergency."
If the cases continue to increase more stringent measure will be taken by government.
