As of Noon, Tuesday, April 14th (when I noticed it myself) the PTX - SXM Island cam is doing a full pan from Marigot and Anguilla all the way over the Great Bay. It's not locked off and trained just on the airport.

For those of you that check out the various cameras to relieve stress and dream of our next trip back to the island, this is a special treat to see the camera moving in such a full arc.

I hope when you read this post the camera is still in motion!

Stay safe and healthy everyone,
Teresa

Great to see our paradise.

I remember before this cam we drove up beyond St Peters, left near the church, up Pineapple Rd until it became nothing more than a dirt path and seeing the island from that advantage point and feeling such wonderment. We could see Marigot, the private coves beyond Anse Marcel, on to Orient and fully around island through Simpson Bay, Sandy Ground and back to Marigot.

It was almost a religious experience. Hubby said his religious experience was thinking he would not be able to stay on the road but fall off into oblivion since there were no guard rails. And he prayed he'd make it back down. We followed the road to the school and back into town. At the top we could see that the path we were on terminated at Bay Oriental Park.

That's very cool. Now Kenny all you have to do is climb onto the Red Telegraph pole or whatever that is, advertise your Rental company, "ready when you are"..."sooner please rather than later " give us all a wave and then turn the placard over that says...Covid-off! breakingnews

By the way Leslie, no worry about one of your cars being way up there. That was before we started rented from you lol.

It's Wednesday and I just checked the camera for my daily dose of island relief. Happy to report it's a STUNNING day in St. Maarten and the camera is still on "full arc pan mode!"

It really is a beautiful panorama. And to think - tomorrow would have marked the beginning of our 47th annual April island vacation. And yes - Iā€™m sulking and a bit b itchy this morning! šŸ˜¢šŸ˜¢

Respectfully,

pat

Back in the early days, long before it was fenced off, we used to climb to the top of that radio tower and the views were indeed amazing. 360 degrees and you felt like you were standing on top of the world. Unfortunately, there were no consumer video cameras back then to record it.

Is the island as brown as that shot makes it look, or is it just the angle? It is a beautiful shot overall though.

Might be the angle or lighting as yesterday it was very green looking.
