Arrived in Newark. Almost an hour early. Airports on both ends were empty. Absolutely no one in customs or immigration. Marriott hotel is almost empty. No bar or restaurant. Very limited room service. Mini bottles of wine or beer for purchase is it. They have removed all glasses and coffee makers from the rooms. I ha never drink wine from a bottle before. First time for everything. Oh, no testing, not even any health health questions. Oh, while we taxied to the runway, there was no a single private jet parked were you normally see them.
We were on the same flight to Newark. I hope you made it home safely. One of the empty seats was in the row where we were sitting which gave us room to spread out a bit. Immigration was a breeze with virtually no lines and going through customs after getting our baggage the agent asked what we had in the cooler(we brought a cooler of some frozen home cooked food)? When the wife told him "no Problem we had a six pack of toilet paper, a can of tuna fish, a can of ravioli and a can of backed beans he laughed and waved us through. We didn't lie.
We have now arrived home safely. Landed in Detroit about 11:3am Saturday March 21. The airports are almost empty. Most everything inside is closed. Only a few places open selling prepackaged snacks. We are pooped. Is was a very stressful 2 days of travel. We have placed an order with Kroger for delivery later today. Good to be home. We will be self isolating for 21 days.
We saw your cooler. We had an empty seat next to us, and our friend Valinda had one next to her. Makes for a much more relaxing flight. We stayed at the airport Marriott overnight. It's a ghost-town. Very limited room service menu. No alcohol. No more TSA pre-check at Newark. Only a single security line that moved VERY slowly.
Glad you made it home Safely. Today is laundry day for me and get caught up on everything. Relax and enjoy that you are home (even though it's not SXM).
