Hi! We're (2 ppl) gonna stay in Cancuun at the Westin Lagunamar and they want to sell us transport fares of $45 one-way or $85 round trip but I'm thinking we can just exit the airport and grab a taxi for less $$. Please advise.

I would book ahead with USA Transfers. This is what we've always done. Great service and you know you are getting a comfortable ride with AC

We use USA Transfers as well - always pleased with their service - we pay $60 round trip for 2 in a private car to a resort in Puerto Morales (about 20 minutes south of the airport), so I would think it would be cheaper to a resort in the hotel zone.
Gotta Caribbean soul I can barely control and some Texas hidden here in my heart...(J.B.)

Last year my sister went to Cancun and did not arrange transportation ahead of time, when they arrived they could not find a taxi to take them to there resort they spent many hours trying to find a ride when they did find someone it cost them big bucks.

That's a first. We find the complete, extreme opposite. Everybody has a problem getting past the gauntlet of transportation options. Getting to a distant resort could be difficult but to a resort in Cancun, easy peasy. Did they arrive at an unusual time? Has anybody on here exited CUN to find it deserted?

i know if you dont arrange in advance it is expensive. Actually, there are inexpensive shared transfers on call, at least during normal hours...

Highly recommend USA or Canada Transfers for transfers anywhere.

Find a good transport company is not an easy task, however, there are very good options in Cancun, as I said, for eTransfers it is a good option, you can even check them the profile of eTransfers, it is not bad.

Find a good transport company is not an easy task, Actually there are several highly-rated transfer companies serving all of the Riviera Maya and the Yucatan including Canada and USA Transfers. A review of the Top Questions section on the Cancun and Playa del Carmen forums on Trip Advisor will provide more feedback on both shared and private transfers and other types of transport.
