There is a low in the Atlantic meandering around waiting for a cold front to combine with it to create a snor'eastercane. The northeast should keep on eye on this developing storm and start preparing on or about October 19th, 2019.

Believe me, October 23, 2005 is well remembered here in New England Ski Country. TS remains of Wilma shoved into a Polar Vortex cold front dropped in excess of 5 FEET of snow on ski areas above 2500 ' elevation over the next 2 days. Opening day of 10/25 is still an early opening record for more than a few ski areas.

Coastal reports from Maine are mixed this morning, the Mount Desert Island area got belted pretty hard, power outages widespread and many trees down from the wind. It was a wet and wild night. but easing significantly through the morning hours of today. I'm glad my sister now lives ON MDI, rather than commuting TO MDI, that 45 minutes twice a day for 20 years was way past tiresome.
Interior ME, on the NH border, was way more wet than anything. Unless you happened to be part of the crew atop Mt. Washington, inland locations had a pretty quiet night. No worry of flooding, but good to know our wells are topped up before winter gets here.

Hurricanes, Nor' easters and Flooding... Oh My! I bought a chain saw today to clear a tree that fell in the driveway! It has been a long nasty storm season, it has got to stop soon. Now the panhandle of Florida is watching for the next one!
