No enforcement. Just like the scooters.

Personally speaking, I think this article sounds good but is just more of the typical island blah, blah, blah, be it from the various news sources or the various government agencies.
We hear and read it re the the dump, the unregulated scooter problems, the beach vendor situation, the as of yet unwritten timeshare legislations, the water situation in the Cupecoy area of SXM, the forever and on-going GEBE issues and so many other things and certainly not limited to the OPCs.
And yet, when it comes to building impressive government buildings, along with other things which improve the prestige of the local government, those things usually are addressed and too often, those are the things that get done?
Elections have consequences, and just like here at home, the definition of stupid is.......?

The people with the skin care on front street keep following you down the street after you say no thank you my skin is perfect. 😁

The next time they follow you down the street turn around and tell them "Well, okay. Let's discuss this over lunch and you buy!" I wonder how that would go over?

Gee, I just tell them politely but firmly, “No, thank you!” and keep walking. Works every time and I’ve never had a problem with them following me.

Some do get pretty aggressive but I just keep walking and ignore them. They aren't going to follow you as they have their spot they harass out of and don't want to loose it to someone else.

I should have stated that first I say no then ignore and keep walking rather than getting into a conversation.

The only place I have been "followed" is the boardwalk. Once or twice in all these years. But they sure do go after the cruise ship folks.
On the beach when I say no thank you, they respond with have a nice day.

Yes. The beach vendors just move along with a polite no thank you but some days it's non-stop.

I did have one pushy vendor sit down in front of our chairs and continue to pull out more of her things after we said no thank you. I finally had to raise my voice and ask her to leave. Also had a timeshare person on the boardwalk make a smartass comment when I said we had a place to stay. Now I just say that I live here if they don't accept no thank you.

I recognized a man at the skin venue and when he started his stichk I said, "Obviously, your product doesn't work if, after using it, I still look the same as last year" when you sold me. He stopped in his tracts. I kept walking before he could have possibly remembered that he'd NOT sold me anything anytime.

If you look the same as last year then it must have worked. LOL Good one! I've had very unpleasant encounters with those fake skin care snake oil women on Front Street. VERY. Even after saying "no". The men let it go. There's one particular woman that I had a run in with TWICE last May. I finally said "wow, you've got a mouth on you"...because she was foul! (aren't they Israeli?...one should check their work permits IMO) And it's by that very beautiful alley that I always go down to photograph the plants and flowers.

Some of the worst ones were those who actually stood in the middle of the road on the hill leading to the former Mama Pizza.
I'm going where the weather suits my clothes.

Doesn't work. They will continue to engage and say, "oh you don't know what's in our product" or "but ours is different'.
