agree with Christo...wherever I am I just assume I am stand on vessel as most people driving boats have no idea what the rules are

...not really cricket though is it!

Maybe a muppet-filter should be introduced by charter companies? ...just a giant net outside the entrance to marinas that idiots get tangled up in before they can reach any potentially dangerous machinery...like a yacht. Probably wouldn't be very profit-friendly though.

Hmm.. that's the opposite of what I assume. I'd rather not play "chicken" with my own boat and as has been said earlier in this thread, in the case of a collision both captains are at fault. If I see a potential for a close situation with another sailboat I'll change course or tack as soon as possible so that the punters in the charter boat don't have to worry about anything smile

I read that it was towed to Baughers Bay to beach it. It did not sound like it happened there.

Sounds plausible...we always have spotters when sails are up. Very many boats on the water when we were there 5/27-6/28.
