My husband and I have visited the island annually since 1982, he recently passed and I wanted to make a visit. My sister and I went on a cruise and I hired Wilfred to take us around so I could see the Island again. He was very accommodating and gave us a wonderful tour. It broke my heart to see the damage to our wonderful island. When you can support the sponsors, do so.

Unfortunately not for us he wasn't

Care to expound???

My wife Carol and I always use Wilfred , We had him on various times in March, always on time and friendly.

Have used Wilfred on numerous occasions when we did not want to drive, or worry about finding parking, and he has been excellent. Always on time, and always willing to wait if we are delayed. Very friendly. Excellent service.

As he was a sponsor of this board, I wanted to use him, I emailed him prior to arriving, giving him the type of trip we wanted, early evening from Orient Village to Simpson Bay and then late night from either Simpson Bay or Maho back to Orient. He gave me the prices and I called him when we arrived to book the first trip, picked us up, on time, but not in a taxi in his private car, took us to Simpson Bay as arranged for the agreed price, plus a good tip. Made sure again, that we could call him late for a ride home and was told No Problem.

Called about 10.30pm, no answer, called twice more in the next 15 mins, same result, he left us stranded in Maho late at night.

Totally uncalled for. I would have been livid!! How did you get home?

Called a driver we had used on previous visits, was quite embarrassing as he obviously knew we had used someone else to get there.

Did you try to touch base again with him the next day? I'm thinking it was some kind of a mistake, as that doesn't sound like our experiences with him. With the casino there, Maho is not as bad a place to be stuck as some others I suppose. Glad you had someone else specific to call though. As far as his private car, we've ridden in his private car and frankly, it's MUCH nicer than the big taxi van.

We just heard from Wilfred. He says that both vehicles are insured and licensed as taxis. More importantly, he never received any phone call from anyone, asking to be picked up. Sometimes the phones don't work on SXM. If he had received a call, even if he couldn't come, he would have contacted someone else to pick up the person.

No I didn't try and call him the next day, to be honest it left a sour taste in my mouth. When we called to book, he didn't answer, but called us back within 5 minutes, seems strange that 3 calls didn't go through, but the first call to the other guy was answered right away.

Hope people don't get the wrong impression, from all accounts Wilfred is a great guy, and from reviews and posts normally does a great job, which is why we picked him. I think we may just have been unlucky with our circumstances that evening, I am not one to hold a grudge and may well try again when we next stay on the French side
