My wife just found a posting on the internet saying a new brewery is coming to St. Maarten. It is supposed to open in May or June and make craft beer. It appears it is named SXM Beer. Has anyone else heard of this or have more information? That would be great since other than Dingey Dock, craft beer options are pretty limited.

There is the Pelikaan Brewery that makes 3-4 different beers. Lagoonies has them on tap and will also sell via bottle. I really like “Mullet Bay” and my husband likes “Irma”.

You can also find some craft beers at Fat Tony's. And Cider too!!!!!

SXM beer is being brewed by the owner of Dinghy Dock. Brewery vats are in and process has started.

Good to know. I assume they will have it on tap at Dinghy Dock. Hopefully it will be sold in retail stores as well.

Will there be a tasting room at SXM Beers brewery? Where is it located? Or will the tasting room be Dinghy Dock?

Found the answer to my own question. Apparently Monoprix Supermarche in Marigot sells it (info came direct from the brewery).

It is nice that craft beer is getting going on island, and appreciate Dingy and others that stock it. Pelikaan is OK, the draft that Dingy was importing from Miami I thought was better, and it is nice that you can purchase craft beer in cans at a few stores and at Dingy. I can only drink so many Dutch Coffee's, Caribs and Corona's over a few weeks.
