Is this area a “no mans land” during the day or do people actually hang out here? Wondering if that might not be a quiet beach day from the Boon with some rental chairs and umbrella and a cooler, aside from the jets coming and going that is.

It's usually pretty quiet in that area. From time to time, you may get a few people who decide to spend some time there, but fur the most part, it's pretty empty.

We have spent an afternoon there on a few occasions. We usually park ourselves halfway between BSV and Karacters....cooler and blanket in hand..and some decent walking involved...AND watch out for that rogue wave...been there, experienced that surprise event.
Usually only a couple of others there..and the walkers by....watch the jets land and take off. Kinda peaceful between jet roars

As the others have said, occasionally there are people there, but not many. And as boucharda said, carrying stuff can be quite a chore if you 'want to get away from it all'. Frankly, right now a better choice would be Orient, strange as it might sound. You could park almost anywhere along, except by Club O remains or by Bikini, and be virtually by yourself, and not have a long walk at all to your car.
