From a glance at the Bare Necessities 2019 booking website, this boat still has majority of cabins available. Most of our BNB friends arent going for various reasons including itinerary, ship and price.
Is anybody out there going?
If not, why not?
What change would make you go?

We booked it while on the BNB 2018! We'll give Carnival one more chance to satisfy. However trip was great and fun!

Hope its a good one for you. None of our local club friends are going.
It looks like over half the cabins are still unsold.

Bar Necessities just dropped the price by $300 per person to help sell cabins.
Even with drop, $200+/day per cabin interior plus taxes and gratuities for lackluster itinerary and Triumph sister ship.

What happens when they do that?? I assume that people don't get money back who had already booked for more money?

I may be a bit off but it looks like the inside bottom deck steerage crowd was offered a free upgrade to inside upper decks or a refund to near the new price. Didntt look like anyone else got a fresh discount which would erk me off if i were a loyal balcony buyer.
Again may be wrong, maybe everybody is getting a refund to new lower prices.
Seems fair to me or better get a free drink package per person.

We would love to go on this nude cruise, but you would think they could come up with a better itininary?

I was trying to figure out what the deal was on Roatan. Is that some kind of a private island thing? There's no info on there at all. Itinerary is weird, two private islands (I think), Jamaica, which I don't care for on a ship, and Cozumel, which is OK. No French islands at all. It's hard to take a big ship anywhere that everyone wants to do the same thing.

Roatan is an island and Mahogany abay is carnival’s company port.
This one has a decent beach but not much other than company excursions to do here.
We generally dont like “fake” cruise line managed ports where you cant just walk off into the normal economy. Out islands are the execption.
Unfortunately, they would have to drop this cruise to about $50/pp/day to overcome the itinerary and ship which are both duds in our opinion.

Yes, cruise line out islands are not normally an optimal situation, but for nude cruises, at least you can be nude there without any issues, as compared to all the other islands on the itinerary.

We agree. Would love to go on another nude cruise, but this itininary is horrible. Bare Necessities has really lost touch with what folks are looking for.

Perhaps they could make a deal with SXM and make an overnite docking.

Other than for weather related reasons, I think it would be hard for them to change an itinerary significantly at this point because they probably have made financial commitments to the various islands, tour operators, etc. Also would be somewhat of an admission that the original itinerary was a mistake and no one ever wants to admit a mistake. Oh and by the way, we got a mailing from BN this week regarding this sailing..

As Carol said, it would be hard to change the itinerary, so I'm guessing lowering the price might be the only thing to do just to fill the cabins. Even if people book at a reduced rate, it would be better than the ship cruise with an empty cabin. We Cruise several times a year, but have never done the Bare Necessities Nude Cruise. If the price drops low enough, we would be interested. The current price is too high, almost double what we usually pay to cruise. We just booked an 11 day Cruise on NCL out of New Orleans for less than $1900 total for the both of us, and that includes the Ultimate Beverage Package, and all gratuities pre-paid by the Travel Agent. At the risk of repeating myself, why a nude cruise would not schedule a stop at St.Martin is beyond me.

Historically BN cruises have very rarely stopped on SXM because it is too many people for Club O to handle. I remember one in the past few years that did stop on SXM when we were on island. The Club O beach that day was out of control. BEFORE Irma, there just weren't enough chairs for people and Papagayo and the Perch couldn't handle the food load. Now, with only the Perch Lite, and as of now, almost nothing else open on Orient either, there's NO WAY that they could handle a big ship. Maybe, just maybe, a small ship like Star Clipper or something. But unless the ship provided food, which I don't know how they could legally do that, it just can't happen right now. And Papagayo isn't scheduled to reopen until sometime next year, so even by when this cruise is scheduled to go, Papagayo wouldn't be open.

The Island could use an influx of some $$$ from the BN Cruisers, but as you said it would be overwhelming. Another case where too much of a good thing is bad.

My understanding is the Club O beach is overwhelmed in normal times when BN and other adult boats pull in. somehow they survive the day. It might be chaos but as long as they stock alot of Carib, booze and hamburgers they might be able to make a wild go of it. Someone wont be happy, but most of those cruisers could layout on their cruise towels.
I say “lets find out” BN.

We'll be there, and brought some friends, too! We don't think it could be too bad for just eight days on a ship with no kids and NUDE! With no ClubO we look for the next best. We will enjoy it!

We booked this cruise while on the last BN cruise in Feb. Just a good winter break for us. We were offered an upgrade or money back and not being in the cabin much we choose the money. In Feb there were a lot of issues with lounge chairs. There were over 3000 people and only 1000 chairs on board. By 8:00 most of the chairs had white bath towels to reserve chairs and sometimes it was afternoon before bodies showed up. Only the very last day did anyone police this issue. Carnival would put a time sticker and come back hr later and remove items to free up chairs. We were in our chairs by 7:30 and one of us always stayed there until we went for a late lunch. The next cruise has even less deck space because there is a huge slide/waterpark area which reduces deck space.
The other complaints were the ports to visit and cruise going out of Port Canaveral adds to the issue. Even for us we don't feel flying into Orlando and getting to ship is as convenient as Ft Lauderdale or Miami.

Too bad they couldn't do something to help free up the deck chairs. Maybe issue different color towels to guests (in their cabin), and those with red towels could use chairs 8-11, blue towels 11-2, and white towels 2-5. Then the next day rotate the times (or towel colors) to allow the passengers a chance to have a deck chair at a decent time at least 2 or 3 days of the Cruise. Doesn't seem fair to have someone go up to the deck at 6am with 10 towels (for friends), and reserve most of the chairs and not use them until 11 am.

No reason to get that elaborate. Just have a rule that chairs must be occupied and if unoccupied for 30 minutes or an hour, towels, etc will be removed..

Unfortunately, despite pleas from countless customers, it appears BN is deaf to this issue and the impact it has on the cruise experience.
Boat is almost half empty with less than 6 months to sail date.

Boat is now 60% sold out so need to sell hundred cabins a month or 3/day to sell out.

So with the reduced prices and winter approaching nudists are making their plans and sales for this boat have finally picked up and it is 80% sold. Club O’s loss is BN’s gain.
