I went to a party recently and they were making deep fried Oreo's. They used blueberry pancake mix for the batter. I had one bite and it was very good, but just could not eat a whole one.

I had a deep fried banana with hershey's dark chocolate once... OMG!!! It was wonderful! Link: Just about anything can be deep fried! When I worked on Varick St. in NYC, there was a place not far from my office that did all kinds of deep fried stuff... even PB&J sandwiches! sorry, I forget the name of the place...it was 10 years ago...

Chocolate-Filled, Deep Fried Bananas Ingredients: Serves 2 3 bananas, peeled and cut in half 1 c milk chocolate, melted 1/4 c all-purpose flour 1 tsp sugar 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 egg 1/4 c milk 1 tbsp oil 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract Red or pink decorating sugar (optional) Confectioners' sugar, for garnish Directions: Preheat deep fryer to 350 degrees. Using a knife, carefully and gently cut out the centers of each banana half, cutting at a slight angle to form a cone-like shape. Remove and discard the centers. Drizzle the melted milk chocolate into the holes and fill to the top. Set the filled bananas aside and allow to completely cool. While cooling, in a medium bowl, combine the egg, milk, oil and vanilla. In a separate large bowl, combine the flour, sugar and baking powder. Dip each banana half into the egg mixture, allowing the excess to drip off and coat evenly in the flour mixture. Fry the bananas for 6 to 8 minutes, until golden brown. Pour the optional decorating sugar on a serving plate and place the bananas on top. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. Enjoy!

My recently found deep fried creation that I fell in love with is at Bluefish, an excellent local Japanese restaurant; tempura green tea ice cream. It's amazing. Now I want some <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

Georgia, I, almost, agree... deep fried fruits are really tasty! Don't get me wrong, I have only had them a very few times in my life! NOT healthy at all! but when you come right down to it... they are still healthier than Southern Fried Chicken or French Fries! They can be as sweet or plain as you want... I agree with you, I don't like much added sugar... if any...
