This November while visiting we would like to book a boat cruise around SXM. We previously have enjoyed a snorkel excursion to Tintamarre out of Phillipsburg where we enjoyed snorkeling with the sea turtles. Any recommendations?

We've done many of the island boat trips over the years but our all day around the island eco tour was one of the few trips we chose to do twice. I think we were on the Golden Eagle - a large 60 passenger plus rated cat but they only took a much smaller number of fares - I think under 25 as their max. It was all day with hotel pick-up and drop-off and transport to the marina in Pberg and included a nice luncheon at Calmos Cafe in Grand Case along with an open bar for most of the day on board and they ended the day with a champagne toast as we returned to the marina. .
The first time we did the trip the Captain was awesome and it was a great day. The second time, a different Captain was less than awesome, okay, but not what I'd call great - as he seemed bored to be there and didn't point out any island sights or locations or island lore, but it was still a pleasant way to spend the day on the waters of SXM. There were a few snorkel stops along the way for those who chose to enjoy being in rather than just on the water.
Be aware, the bus that transports you does many stops along the way so you might (or might not?) want to drive your own car. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Capt. Bob Cass does a lot of different excursions for cruise ship passengers. You can contact him direct via email listed on his website. Soualiga Destinations

Are you visiting via cruise ship or spending some time on the island? Some trips cater to the cruise ships schedules.

Last year we had a blast doing an all day around the island tour with Billy Bones Charter, I would only do this if Chris is the firstmate as he made the whole boat have a blast. For a more relaxing time, check out the Friday trip with Captain Neil on the Celine 2. Both were excellent day trips with the first geared towards a younger crowd even though we are in our late fifties.
