Out of the house 5:30 am for the trip to JFK. No traffic and there with plenty of time to spare. JB787 was about 30 minutes late but made up most of it in the air. Car from Kenny's and phone from Craig. Checked into Royal Palm all without a hitch.

Unpacked and walked across the street to SMYC for some late lunch and early dinner. Apps were good and dinner, well it was OK. I love this for brunch and lunch. It was convenient for dinner since we were all tired.

Saturday was off to El Zafiro and swimming in SB. The seaweed was very light so it was enjoyable. Sale & Pepe for dinner at Leslie's suggestion and really enjoyed it.

Sunday we hung out here as my BIL is recovering from extensive surgery so we took it easy with a pool day. Dinner was at Skipjacks and it was as good as usual.

Monday was at Friars where there was no seaweed and no waves. It was a perfect day. Dinner at La Patrona, don't know who recommended it here, but thank you! It is a great find.

Tuesday was another day spent around the pool here. Sometimes it gets so hard to find the energy to run around. Dinner at the Greenhouse which was ok. Seemed to me they are more interested in quantity vs quality. As usual, this is JMHO.

Wednesday was off to Marigot Market for some shopping, walk around and some drinks at The Marina. Left there for some plane watching and lunch at SSBB. After that went over to BSV to check out the rooms. Carol and Eric I did drop your names and TTOL as the reason we wanted to check it out and they were very nice. Looks like a lovely and relaxing place to stay. Dinner was at Rancho which has changed their name to Palapa Grill. We really do enjoy the steaks there and last night was as expected. Very good.

So that's where we are and today is our last day. It is amazing how fast a week goes by. Maybe next time we will extend it out a bit.

Thanks for the report! Glad you got the chance to check out Beachside. We used to only stay for a week at a time, but now we enjoy about 10 days or so. That's about the right length of time for us now. Safe travels home!

Glad your trip was a good one and thank you for sharing it. Yours sounds like a nice relaxing week and the kind we've come to really appreciate after all those years of going to see it all/do it all. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Does Rancho/Palapa still have the Flamenco floor show?

I should have added that, if you're not in the mood for a steak at Rancho/Palapa Grill (which are excellent) - they have an excellent lasagna, surprisingly.

So yesterday was our last full day. We decided to lazy it out again. Spent the day by the pool. For our last night dinner we went to Marios. It was a very enjoyable meal with 2 bottles of wine so it got a bit pricey, but what the heck, it's why I worked 44 years. This is the part we deserve to enjoy.
