I am looking at perhaps an August trip. I have a fare from Jet Blue from Boston with a short layover in San Juan. We've never flown through San Juan. Its a short layover. Does anyone see any issues? I can't imagine its a huge airport. TIA

It is a large airport, with never-ending construction. As long as you are not changing terminals, no problem at all.

Jet Blue uses terminal A which is a stand alone building with only 8 gates, should be quite easy.

Didn't JetBlue drop SJU-SXM service? Which airline will you be connecting to?

They did, it used to be our go to flight. Maybe the OP isn't going to SXM?

Seaborne Airlines. We've never flown with them.

Connected JB/Seabourne for our recent BOS/St. Kitts flight. Prop planes with VERY little room for carry on...VERY......but otherwise an uneventful flight. Maybe a capacity of around 30...

I think our connection to SXM was 50 minutes and had no issues

JetBlue is in terminal A. Seaborne operates out of Terminal D. It's a bit of a hike, but do-able, all inside the secure area.

Seaborne Airlines is a partner airline with Jetblue and they sell seats on Seaborne's SJU-SXM route. The prices they charge are not as good as when Jetblue operated the route. Jetblue will even sell you a seat on Cape Air to British Virgin Islands from San Juan and connect you there to SXM on Liat, if you want to pay the prices they are asking.

Thanks. Its an hour layover. Any delay may bite us. I'll check out the terminal map.

For what it is worth - We had plenty of free time on our last layover at SJU so for the heck of it I timed the walk between the furthest gate in Terminal A to the furthest Gate in Terminal D. Walking at a leisurely pace it took me 16 minutes. On my way back to my starting point I walked at a brisk pace and it took about 11 minutes.

If you return through SJU when no big international flights are arriving you'll find Immigration and Customs to be very fast. I come in there at 11-11:30AM from another island, and have only the 4-6 people on my flight to contend with. I don't know at what time it might get busy though.

Interesting, when you go to the website as a points earner, they show its not available. Do you need to call?

I went in to Trublue and noticed that too. Looks like they will let you pay for flight involving a partner, but not let you use your points on those flights.
