Spending a few days in Anguilla before SXM. Any recommended high end restaurants. Looking to stay at Turtle's Nest but will have rental car. Looking for beach bars as well, been to Gwen's on Sunday as well as Uncle Ernies. Any other suggestions on what to do would be appreciated. Not sure if we will enjoy the peacfullness of Anguilla as compared to all we do in SXM.

We ate at Tasty's when we were there in late November. Everything about it was fantastic. There's no view, as it's not on the water, but the setting was very quaint, in an old house; and the service was amazing.

Tasty's has wonderful meals and friendly service. Love this place. Straw Hat is a favorite of Anguilla visitors as is Veya and Mangos. We liked Straw Hat, haven't been to the other two.
SBE- Although many love Gwen's I would skip that and go to Elodia's. Great food/band on Sundays (not sure about low season though). Madeariman has great food and a band on Saturday afternoon. Our friend Junior Fleming has a glass bottom boat that he takes people out on. Have done a snorkeling trip with him which was fun. Usually we just snorkel off the beach here. I am always amazed by the fish.
Mead's Bay is a great beach. We enjoy Blanchard's Beach Shack for lunch. Admire their VT connection.
We spend a few nights on St Maarten catching up with friends- being busy, busy. Then go to Anguilla to really relax and just chill out. I finally get to just sit and read, eat, drink, nap, and repeat.
Enjoy your trip!!

Jacala, close to Turtles Nest, my very favorite, you need reservations, closed Sunday nite, Monday and Tues Straw Hat next door to Turtles Nest, great food, service and setting, Sprocka plays on Wed and Sat Night, they are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mangos short distance from Turtles Nest, freshest fish on the island, beautiful setting, with the lights shining on the water, great food, service and setting, another favorite. Sunday Ocean Echo close to TN Omalie 360 play, they are a great band, good food. 1:30-4pm Johnnos, - on the beach in Sandy Ground, legendary - Sprocka and the boys - Jazz 1:30-4 DaVida Bayside Grill Omari Banks and his band Eleven, 1:30 4pm, great oceanfront setting, good food, service.
Close to TN on Meads is Bamboo Beer Box, (west of TN towards Four Seasons), and to the east is Blanchards Beach Shack, closed Sunday. Straw Hat will serve you drinks on the beach. Speaking of Four Seasons, they have entertainment most nights in the Sunset Lounge. Pumphouse in Sandy Ground has the Musical Brothers on Thursday night, but they dont start til 10, they also play at Smokeys (close to TN) on Sat afternoon. Smokeys is on the beach, good roti and burgers. Have a great trip, Ellen

We ate at Mango's last year. The atmosphere was nice (candlelight, open with no walls but not on the water) and the food was delicious.

Mangos is oceanfront on Barnes Bay, the dining room has no exterior walls, it does have heavy, clear, plastic flaps that they put down if the weather is inclement.
