Just found out that Temptation at Starz Casino will be closed for most of the month of June. They will reopen June 30th.

Could there have been a 'deal' too good to pass on? If the story is true, it's a win-win for the Summit and all their guests, for sure. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Damn. That's disappointing.
We had a fantastic meal there last year. After eating, we sat and listened near the piano. My wife also bought one of their books. I must confess, following the recipe, their version of the sauces tastes better that her. Maybe, they have better/fresher ingredients or maybe it's just the atmosphere.

No way Pat . We have known the Family over 25 years and Dino not too long ago extended the restaurant in front. i.e he enclosed the open seating area.

I'm betting you're right, Lesley, but sometimes things happen. I would think, though, the Summit itself would have been the source to make such an announcement if this was to happen.
The Summit has needed a real restaurant with a great chef for a long time but I guess it's not to be this particular chef. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Really? Temptation is my favorite restaurant. Seems odd he would move to the Summit.

Lesley--I didn't really think so. Have you talked to Dino? I sent him an email but haven't heard back.

I received the following email from Dino--
"Since the US elections, the term " fake news" seems to be in vogue, so please allow me to set this record straight. We are not moving to Summit, We are closing for the month of June for vacation, instead of the traditional September when many restaurants on the island close. We hope to benefit from being one of the few restaurants open during that month. I'm not aware of any of my staff resigning, or opening a new business, however it is certainly any persons right to do as they wish during non working hours. If any of my staff have the opportunity to earn more money , have a second or side job, or help a friend out, even start a business, all I can do is wish them well, and be grateful for their service. We are a team of 15 people, and our regular guest know that many of our team, have been with us for 10 plus years, ( including my sous chef Das). It may very well be that Das is busy with something at Summit, that I'm not aware of, but this does not equate at all to Temptation moving to Summit. While we are still open this month, please come and enjoy our 3 course summer special for $45.
Dino Jagtiani Chef/ Owner Temptation. "
I don't think anyone thought that the restaurant was moving to the Summit. However, it looks like to me that Das should have told Dino he was leaving, if he is starting his own business, as that would have seemed the appropriate thing to do, to me. And for those that don't know, the sous chef is the second in command, under the executive chef, who in this circumstance then works under Dino.

Thanks Carol. I didn't mean to open a can of worms, I had no clue about anyone doing anything at Summit. We had just had heard from them they were going to be closed in June and though people would want to know.

I feel bad for Das and what he is about to do. He is a great Sous chef as well as a very nice guy. But knowing first hand how the Summit and its owner works is a major risk setting anything up there beneficial to Das... Occupancy is the lowest on the island. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif" alt="" />
