Thanks for the photos. Gives a much better representation than what I saw on their website.

I'm just having fun. I'm quite sure that he us as much of a Saint as you.

I think of you as the "old soul" of the forum. Kind as can be with not an ill word for anyone.

Enjoy the rest of your vacation and I will have to put the "old" talk to rest for a bit.

J.D.,

That's exactly what I was thinking! I thought it was some type of Special Concierge service that was contracted. And such a great way to repurpose the "Old Guy"

Now, now, enough of the old comments... Most of us here are, ahem, older than we used to be..

Correct. Both pat and Carol are older than me, even though pat referred to me earlier as an "oldster".

Our friends were in the same unit you are in last month when we visited them. Our villa looks the same although everything is turned around/opposite. LOL.

Beachside is right by the airport. Go to Sunset Bar and Grill and immediately before you go through the gate to go into Alegria, make a left. Travel by the fence to the airport for a few hundred feet, and make the first left. Go all the way to the end of that road and that's where Beachside is.

Pat I have stayed at Beachside several times, but never got the butler. I guess You have to pay a lot extra for him. Next time I stay there, I will ask for the special butler service and see what they say. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/toast.gif" alt="" /> I like his uniform too! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Joy.gif" alt="" />

Great to see, thank you! It's always looked like a fun place to stay! Are there TVs? A/C in all rooms? Laundry facility? We've always stayed just down the beach a bit, so love the location.

As of now, TV in the main room and a/c only in the main room. No laundry facilities. There is daily maid service though, so I'm sure if you talk to one of them, they will do laundry for an extra fee.

We stay just on the other side of Mary's Boon and find it to be absolutely perfect.

The units are half the distance to the water as are the units at BSV, the decks are quite large and the units have full kitchens with central AC. We always stay in a ground floor 2 bedroom.

To me, probably about the best units on the island with the best beach area.

Sorry, the units are closer to the water than Beachside? Sometimes the sand comes and goes and possibly the unit would be TOO close? Regardless, glad you found your nirvana. I've found mine. What's the name of the complex?

They just renovated a bunch of the units. They look great! Previously there was only AC in the master but I believe now that the atrium has been closed in there is AC thru out. I believe there is still only a tv in the living room which is fine with me.

Carol, there is no A/C in the main room. Only in the bedroom as I recall unless that has changed. TV in the main living area only.

Our next door neighbors, Sky Chief here on TTOL, invited us in to take a peek at their upgraded unit. It really is lovely and feels so much roomier with all that Atrium space as a dining room. And like us, they're not big airco fans but they pointed out the new unit intended to serve the main area of the suite. That plus the new countertops give it a whole new flair, and thank you, Lou and Lucy for sharing it with us. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

I have known about this for a while now, but my understanding was that Drew wanted it to be kept in confidence until all the units had been completed. I have seen pictures of the renovated units and they are lovely..

Coco's Beach Club, literally right next door to Mary's Boon.

I know that everyone has their Nirvana, and I agree with you that most people have found their own. It's sort of like the pizza discussion, everyone has their likes.

So glad that you got to meet our dear friends! They are lovely people! Glad you are neighbors! Their unit was beautiful but I had seen pics of one of the other units prior to our arrival so wasn't surprised. Hard to keep secrets Carol when the new units are being used!

I was told something a long time ago there were some changes coming but wasn't told it was a secret. In any case the cat is out of the bag and I think guests will like the changes. Personally, instead of using AC we like to leave the interior sliders open for fresh air. I understand the reasons why the changes were made though. Already looking forward to next April!

As I said, I knew it would be posted sooner or later. I think most people will LOVE the changes. In the evening, it will be nice to be able to close up the sliders, turn on the a/c and watch TV in the living room without sweating to death! Once it gets after dark, I don't feel comfortable in the living room with the doors open. My only issue is that I am a bit concerned about whether it's going to be tough to grill now, as we grill out a lot. I just hope it won't be too crowded on the deck. ..and of course there is the question of the rates. I suspect the rates in summer will go up. I always thought the summer rates were low, compared to the winter rates.

Carol,

Please delete if not allowed. If this works, it is a link to a short movie of unit 4 taken last June.

We also kept quiet about the upgrades.
They look very nice....

We only use AC when it's really necessary. Love the ocean breezes.
Yes, Carol, hopefully it will remain affordable, since we spend 4 weeks a year, or I will have to get a job. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

Carol, the grills that we noticed on the decks did seem to have plenty of room. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Thumbsup.gif" alt="" />

Yes, we'll have to see on the prices, for sure. Thanks for the info on the grill, as that is very important to me. Where EXACTLY were the grills?

I think they were on the opposite side from the stairs against the wall and railing. My husband said some may have been around that same area and could be moved where you wanted it. Hope that helps.

Carol the grill is on the deck, sideways flush against the wall toward the railing. Our friends grilled steaks for us last month with no issues.

I was thinking, Carol, that if you are going soon, you may be in a unit that is not updated yet.

We're not going until June, but I think, as of now, our unit will not be renovated. We normally like to be very close to the pool and by the time we booked, everything close to the pool was booked, so I'm more bummed about being further away from the pool.
