I have used it many times. I typically get the one that gives me 300mb (I think it's $60). The roaming partner here is Flow and I've had pretty decent coverage; even on Anegada. If you are anywhere with a line of sight to St. Thomas or St. John (CGB, JVD, Sopers, etc) you will also have normal AT&T service. From our property in Cane Garden Bay, I have full service just like in the U.S.

I used the AT&T International Day Pass and the coverage was great. Cost is $10/day and I was able to hotspot one device for all the others. The text/data/phone usage applies to your normal monthly plan. Meaning, if you pay the $10 daily fee, all your usage just gets thrown into your regular monthly limits.

The AT&T Passport plan works anywhere you get a cellular signal and that should include most BVI waters. The Passport plan includes wifi but is not limited to wifi.

That's what we did as well a couple of weeks ago. The only part that is confusing and I don't know for certain is which carrier you're supposed to connect with. LIME, CCT-Boatphone, etc. Do you turn on data roaming (sounds scary)? I just don't know and the instructions on the att site are far and few between. I'm scared to open my bill next month in case we screwed it up.

It's what it says on AT&T's website, but I understand what you are saying. AT&T is referring to "at sea" <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/toast.gif" alt="" />

I turned on data roaming after checking with AT&T. No surprises and it worked better.

Only works in range of a cell tower. Fortunately they have not built a RF wall at the shore line. I have picked up cell signals 20 miles from shore here. The passport plan is not limited to wifi. In some countries they have wifi hot spots. Otherwise it is cellular data. For a week long trip the daypass is a good deal. Verizon has a very similar program.
