Do the ferry services (i.e. SMith's Ferry) accept Credit Card for payment?

They do, but many have had their credit card info hacked after using a card to pay for the ferry, especially Native Son. We always use cash now.

I use a credit card for Smith's quite often and have never had any problem.

You just never know if it was a bad staff person.. nor where exactly it may have happened...
But - the rule is on the house books... Cash for the ferry
But, yes - if you are brave - they accept plastic

At the end of the day, the risk to you is zero. You would just need to replace your card. So as long as you have another you could use or use one you rarely use, no problem using a credit card. Just be prepared that you may need to replace it if it is compromised.

While that's true, to me for that small of a charge, it's not worth it, so that logic wouldn't hold true to me.

Regardless, as I have said before, please be careful people about posting statements which could be defamatory. If the statement is defamatory, it doesn't matter whether it's "only on the internet" or not. Any defamatory statement made is the legal responsibility of the poster.

Replacing your card while on Tortola is a hassle.I use only once card and had to get that Fed Ex'd to Sebastian's as we don't have street addresses..and then had to inform accounts attached to my card. Not worth the hassle for a small charge for ferries IMHO..I also know I am not the only one whose card has been compromised after using a certain ferry company..Inter Island is the way to go if you don't mind Red Hook..great service and staff..

Two years ago I used my new Capital One card for the first use ever for the ferry from CA to West End. By the time I arrived in West End I had a text asking me if I,were, using my card in China. Two days later I picked up my new card at FedEx in Road Town.

Question on the ferry and timing. If we take the 10:15 from WE to CA and have a 12:55 flight out of STT will that give us enough time to get to the airport to check in etc? I'm told the ferry arrives at 10:45.
Any help would be appreciated.

That's cutting it pretty close - I would take an earlier ferry and just get some breakfast at the PP when you get there (provided it's not Sunday and they're open...). Most of the airlines want you there 2 hours prior to take off - some are saying 3 but I have never had a problem with 1.5 to 2 hours prior to takeoff - I do usually shoot for 2 to be safe.
