This is a two (2) part pick for the Super Bowl. I would think despite our awful record that some of use can pick a winner, unless it is a push of course!

Ok first pick the winner with the 3 point line.

Then say the total number of points scored by both teams for the game, this will be the tie breaker. Winner and closest guess of the total number of points is the winner. The over/under line below is what the odds makers are saying the total number of points will be.

Super Bowl Lines 2017 - NFL Line for Super Bowl LI (51)

NRG Stadium, Houston, TX, 2/5/17

Date & Time Favorite Line Underdog

2/5 6:30 ET New England -3 Atlanta getting 3

Over/Under line is: 59

As a side note. The over under line of 59 is the highest in Super Bowl history.

But also New England and Atlanta have been scoring machines.

With my outstandingly poor record this is easy:

Atlanta
48

Now I can sit back and enjoy the Patriots victory knowing I contributed as best I could.

Carol, I just noticed I picked exactly as you did, should I submit a different number?

Yes, if you can still edit your original post, you probably should.. If you can't edit it, send me a PM and I will fix it.

I was able to edit and change the number. Now I will probably watch the Puppy Bowl (or whatever it is called)instead of the game, and laugh a lot more than I would the Super Bowl.

I think Atlanta if under rated, so taking Atlanta.

How about 36 to 30 for 66 points.

Now watch it be a blow out by one team or the other.

I knew it wouldn't fail! 55 seconds to go and Atlanta is winning and the total points were 48. Pats in a great win.

Yes, Atlanta lost the game. Did not understand their last series. Could have kick a long field goal and locked up the game. Sack was the last thing that they could let happen. That and letting two extra point conversions did not help.

Congrats -- now why did you not pick better during the season? Oh you where saving yourself til the end right? <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

All they had to do was RUN the ball, didn't matter if they got any yards or not, and then kick a field goal. Idiots.

Hopefully this link works, it tells of somebody winning $1m by picking all 81 games played in the NFL!

Wow, I actually would think that should have paid more, if he got all the games right. The odds against that, I can't imagine!

And pays out over 10 years. I wonder if there is some small print about them still being in buisness. Doesn't say if the player had to put up anything on the bet.

The more I think about this, the more I find it very unlikely to be true. We could only pick six correct once! This claims somebody picked over 500 straight.

Ok the numbers did not seem right, so there is more to the story about what was actually required. Here are the details:

Quote
required successful bets against the company's unique "spread” in four games a week, all 17 weeks of the regular season, as well as games throughout the playoffs, 81 in all.

That makes a lot more sense, but is still quite a feat.
